Providing Driving Lessons in Aylesbury Haddenham Princes Risborough Tring Waddesdon Wendover Winslow and surrounding areas
This test consist of 2 parts.
50 multiple-choice questions – you must answer 43 correctly to pass.
Hazard perception test – this follows part one and involves a series of 14 video clips.
Each clip has at least 1 developing hazard. However, 1 clip has 2!
You respond by clicking a mouse button when each hazard is spotted. The earlier you click the mouse, the more points you will score, up to a maximum of 5 per clip.
The pass mark for this part of the test is 44, from a possible 75.
You must pass both parts of the test in the same sitting, to be able to progress to the practical driving test.
The Practical Driving Test
A 40 minute test of your ability to drive, encompassing different roads and situations
This will include a 20 minute section called Independent Driving. During this phase of the test you will follow directions given by a Sat-Nav provided by the Examiner. In 1 in 5 of tests, this phase will be conducted with you following signs and road markings. In both cases you must negotiate all situations correctly and safely.
You will also be required to perform 1 manoeuvre from the following:-
1. Parallel Park on the road
2. Reverse Bay park in the Test Centre car park
3. Forward Bay park in a Car Park during the drive
4. Park on the right hand side of the road, 2 car length reverse and move off
Approximately 1 in 3 tests include the Emergency Stop – this is in addition to the manoeuvre.
An eyesight test is carried out at the beginning of the test and a “Tell Me” question will be asked.
